Purple delicious .

I know it's "cold" outside and almost January but I really felt like a smoothie this morning! The fact that I matched it to my travel mug may or may not be a coincidence.

In the mix: Blueberries, (hence the purple) frozen banana, strawberries, orange juice and a large spoonful of yogurt to thicken it up.

P.S. my Mom, sister and brother are coming today for the first time since I've been in Florida!

Link Love

I forgot about this amazing project until I found a random scribbled up note in the bottom of my backpack. Stunningly creative and selfless in its design, I am loving catching up on year one.

I have successfully masted Mama Pea's dough balls, now onto Diana's.....yum.

Looking for ways to use up your Silk or non silk eggnog? Try these eggnog scones. Made them last night and they turned out fantastic!

I really, really want to do this to my little "office" nook.

Oooh one more thing to add my to Christmas list, fish eye lens for my new Iphone.

Beautiful unique beaded bracelet. Reminds me of an upscale, adult version of camp friendship bracelets.

Made two batches of this soup last week and now have mucho leftovers in my freezer! Love it.

Merry Christmas Eve and Indy pictures 1

Just a few of my favorite pictures from my recent trip home to Indiana. I am so thankful I got to see snow this year! All the praying and hoping paid off! The pictures are from my Mom's backyard and around my Grandma's neighborhood. Hope you like them and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Day :)

Notes to Self

You may do everything in your power to prevent getting sick when traveling, but you could still get sick.

You could eat healthy, take airborne, wash your hands A LOT (hello dirty airports).

You could dress warmly when visiting a state much colder than your own.

You could eat fruit salad every day on vacation even though you really want a plate full of grandma's Christmas cookies.

You could limit your alcohol intake and pretend you don't want another Newcastle on the house at your old job.

You could do everything right and still get home and get your boyfriend's cold he just got from someone at work.

I know this because I am sniffling right now. Thank you very much. :)

Will post pictures from my lovely vacation today or tomorrow, here's wishing you all are having a happy holiday week!

Grocery list: trash bags, mini weenies, cranberry sauce.

Savoring December

I meant to write this last week...but I've been busy! And now it is already the 10th of December.

The whole idea I had behind this post was to take moments during the rush of December to savor whatever you are doing, for most of the activities we do this month come once a year.

Special foods and sweet we make, thoughtfully choosing gifts for loved ones, hand written notes to friends, witnessing a first snow (if you're lucky), seeing family you may not see frequently, taking pictures, receiving pictures in the mail, decorating oh the decorating, wrapping paper and pretty bows, but most of all just being together with the most special people to you.

I am trying hard to take my own advice and thankfully have done most of my shopping, letter writing and decorating in advance and at my own pace. I never want to be one of the strung out, rushing people always worried about getting that perfect present at the last moment or overwhelmed with the vanity parts of the holidays like not getting new decorations or the pricier gifts...I love making homemade!

I know its not for everyone but at least take time and really remember to savor the most important parts rather than breezing through this fabulous month!

All photos from the holidays last year.

Updated my store

Actually got motivated to finish some sewing projects lately! Just put them on Etsy for all the holiday shoppers. Knowing today is December 4th already, I am SO glad I got all my Christmas shopping done already. I can't imagine going to the mall or else where right now! Traffic is crazy.
Have you gotten your holiday shopping done yet or you still baring the malls and stores?

Info on the goods...I finished something like ten baby bibs, two Christmas banners and a pretty tree skirt. Fun! I'm excited to do some more sewing before I leave for vacation...and after! Hope everyone's weekend is going well and you're not at work like me.
